THE ESTABLISHMENT OF NOVELTY POLYTECHNIC
Situated on 1.2km2 (122 hectares of land) in Kishi within the Northern part (Oke-Ogun Area) of Oyo State, is a private initiative conceived to assist the Federal Government tackle the insufficient number of tertiary institutions relative to Nigeria’s huge population.
It is strategically planned and located to serve the educationally deprived Northern fringes of Niger State, (Wawa, Kanji, New Bussa etc), Kwara State, (Baruten, Kaiama, Yashikira etc) and (Oke-Ogun Areas) of Oyo State which, to date are yearning for Federal presence in education and other physical infrastructures.
Our passion for the Project was guided by our vision, mission, aims and objectives as enunciated below:
To provide excellent technical and technological education, and be one of Nigeria’s best Polytechnics of international repute within the first ten years of establishment.
To train and certificate competent professionals with technical, vocational and entrepreneurial skills.
- To enroll eligible students in a most conducive learning environment for optimal success in their chosen careers.
- To prepare students for a competitive labour market by transforming theory into practical learning through internship, fieldwork and industrial training attachments.
- To inculcate high moral standard and ethical values in our youth beyond the four walls of the classroom.
Novelty Polytechnic began as a philanthropic initiative of the Proprietors, Dr ABDULGANIYU SALAMI and Hadjia AISHA DANKANI, who conceived the idea of building an ‘academic village’ as one stop education centre comprising of Crèche, Nursery & Primary, Secondary School, Polytechnic and a University.
The Novelty School Project is indeed an innovation and the first of its kind in this area and comprises the following:

It is our deliberate investment in Information & Communication Technology (ICT) as the driver of the 21st century economy which earned us the accolade of one of the best centers in the last three years of JAMB Examinations conducted in our school since 2019.
It was also deliberately set up to ameliorate the sufferings of candidates from the aforementioned rural areas who hitherto had to travel long distances to write JAMB examinations with resultant negative impact on parents as well.
With our ICT and other equipment, the polytechnic was able to ameliorate the effect of covid-19 global pandemic on our students by launching online lectures to ensure that the students wasted no time as they stayed busy and active at home.
